"An Old South Tribute to Dad"

June 3, 2017

There are "tons" of country songs written for an about "MOM", but not as many about "DAD", but we'll do a few of them.   We'll have a great "Old Country" show this Saturday night at the Old South Jamboree in Walker, LA (9554 Florida Blvd. between Juban and Walker Exits).  CARLTON JONES will lead the band and sing some of the great "old country" tunes and a special Father's Day song "I Still Can't Say Goodbye" a song made famous by a person NOT known for his singing, Chet Atkins.   We'll be introducing a couple of new singers to the Old South. NAN GAUTREAU will sing some of the favorite old country tunes.  This will actually be Nan's second visit to the Old South.  Joining us for his first visit is a great singer, RANDIE BERTRAND.  Randie has one of the purest, country voices I've heard in a long time.  You don't want to miss these new singers.  Our other singers will include  ANITA LEBLANC, DEB CARPENTER, THE WHITFIELDS, ROBERT REYNOLDS, EDDIE WARREN, CARLTON JONES, ED KINCHEN AND JUNE BARKER.  The Old South Band will feature RANDY BLACKWELL on Pedal Steel and includes Robert Reynolds, Eddie Warren and Larry and Maxine Whitfield.    We'll have some hits from the golden days of country music and many of your favorites.   We realize that so many of our regular fans and even some of our band, are still struggling with the issues from the flood.  Many are still re-building their homes and business, and we know that many are facing so many struggles.  Maybe coming out to the Old South for a little Country Music fun can get your mind off the troubles and you and your family can eat some popcorn and hotdogs and enjoy the show.  Our prayers are out to everyone affected in this devastation.  I

We'll see you Saturday Night!! THE SHOW STARTS AT 7 PM.   Carlton Jones, 225-936-0349 ~ carltonjones@cox.net.
