"A New Dose of Old Country"
August 5, 2017
There are so many great, old country tunes. I searched through the archives, and at this show in August, we'll be doing quite a few "new" old country songs. (New for us - songs we have not done before, or some that have not been done in a long time. There is no music quite like the good old Country Music of Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard and George Strait. That's what you'll hear this Saturday Night at the Old South Jamboree in Walker, LA. Our featured guest will be Mark Sanders, who is back in full swing at the Old South. He'll be singing "Old Habits" by Hank Jr, Amarillo By Morning" by George Strait, "Where Corn Don't Grow" (Travis Tritt) and Merle's "California Cotton Fields." Also, Tommy Raborn will be back along with Nan Gautreau. Our other singers will include DEB CARPENTER, THE WHITFIELDS, ROBERT REYNOLDS, EDDIE WARREN, CARLTON JONES, ED KINCHEN AND JUNE BARKER. Some of the songs we have not done in a while will include "Hello Mary Lou" (Robert Reynolds), "Bartender Blues "(Tommy Raborn), "Ring of Fire", "Rolling In My Sweet Baby's Arms" and Merle's "I Threw Away The Rose" (all by Carlton). The Old South Band will feature RANDY BLACKWELL on Pedal Steel and he'll be featured on Ghost Rider's In The Sky accompanied by Robert Reynolds, Eddie Warren and Larry and Maxine Whitfield. We'll have some hits from the golden days of country music and many of your favorites.
We'll see you Saturday Night!! THE SHOW STARTS AT 7 PM. Carlton Jones, 225-936-0349 ~ firstname.lastname@example.org.
