"Doyle Dykes at the Old South!!!"
Along with "The River City Boys"
April 7, 2018, 7 pm
Saturday Night, April 7th, the incredible Doyle Dykes will play at the Old South Jamboree in Walker!! We'll still have some of our regular singers along with a new group to the Old South "The River City Boys", an established country/bluegrass group from Baton Rouge. This will be a show to remember. Doyle Dykes is considered one of the foremost "fingerstyle" players in the world, and he is "Country" through and through. He played at the Grand Ole Opry way back as a teenager with Grandpa Jones, and still plays there today. One of his biggest influences was Chet Atkins, and he plays a lot in the Chet Atkins style. Doyle will play at the Old South on Saturday night, April 7, and again at Community Bible Church in Baton Rouge, 8354 Jefferson Hwy, on Sunday night, April 8th at 7 pm for a full "Doyle Dykes Concert". He'll also do a guitar workshop at Community Bible Church at 3 pm. Check out Guitar Dreamers and Guitar Ministries, Inc. for more details and a link to buy tickets. The River City Boys do a great combination of country and blue grass with 3 part harmony. Come join us as we feature not only Doyle Dykes, but also Kerwin Leblanc, Rachel Punkay, The River City Boys, Anita Leblanc, Tommy Raborn, Deb Carpenter, Robert Reynolds, Ed Kinchen and others. Carlton Jones and the Old South Band will be there featuring Doyle Dykes on Guitar, Eddie Warren on Bass, and Larry and Maxine Whitfield singing backup. Doors open at 5:30 pm. The snack bar will be open with Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Cold Drinks. This will be a show you don't want to miss. April 7th, 7 pm.
THE SHOW STARTS AT 7 PM - Doors open at 5:30. Tickets are still $10 for the Old South Show, $5 for kids 6 - 12, and free for kids under 6.
